What is the difference between a compatible and a remanufactured cartridge?

A compatible cartridge is manufactured from new materials in Jet Tec’s Lincolnshire factory. The outer casing is moulded and the inside components are added. Chips are added where necessary and then filled with the relevant ink colour.

A remanufactured cartridge is collected through Jet Tec’s recycling scheme for re-use. Only the best quality cartridges are chosen to be remanufactured. They are firstly cleaned thoroughly with Jet Tec’s own developed cleaning solution to remove any dried ink and contaminants. They are then refilled and all printer cartridges are 100% tested before leaving the Boston, Lincolnshire factory.

Why should I buy Jet Tec ink cartridges over original manufacturer inks?

There are a number of reasons; the main reasons are Quality, Reliability, Extra Life and Price and free UK delivery.

I’ve heard that compatibles or remanufactured ink cartridges may block my ink jets?

This may be the case with some of Jet Tec’s competitors. This is mainly down to the fact that air gets inside the ink cartridge at the manufacturing stage. Jet Tec undertake a unique process to avoid this, resulting in a very low return rate of less than 0.3%.

Can compatible consumables damage my printer?

No. Jet Tec cartridges are designed to fit your printer. Unless a cartridge is forced or installed incorrectly, you should have no problems with any Jet Tec printer cartridges.

Will Jet Tec compatible products invalidate my printer guarantee?

Your manufacturer’s guarantee may be void, please check the documentation that came with it. However, Jet Tec are so confident about their product that they offer a full 100% 2 year guarantee on their products and your printer is covered if it is damaged by Jet Tec inkjets.

DCI was formed in 1983 originally producing typewriter parts. In 1994, DCI launched the brand Jet Tec. The idea was to produce an ink cartridge brand with a high profile image manufacturing our own high quality inkjet product. Today, Jet Tec has grown into one of Europe’s largest suppliers of compatible and remanufactured ink and toner cartridges. Extensive and innovative R&D has seen us developing many unique in-house ideas that make our production more efficient, more reliable and overcome patents to safeguard our customers. All research, development, manufacturing, tooling, ink formulation and packaging design is done in our UK based factory. We manufacture over 2 million compatible ink cartridges, 700,000 remanufactured ink cartridges and over 100,000 laser toner cartridges per month.

The company’s philosophy is simple; to create a quality, cost effective alternative to the OEM’s.

Why should I buy Jet Tec ink cartridges over original manufacturer inks?

There are a number of reasons, the main reasons being Quality, Reliability, extralife and Price!

I’ve heard that compatibles or remanufactured ink cartridges may block my ink jets?

This may be the case with some of our competitors. This is mainly down to the fact that air gets inside the ink cartridge at the manufacturing stage. Jet Tec have mastered this art many years ago of removing air to give perfect ink flow.

Will the colours be as bright as the original manufacturer ink cartridges?

The simple answer is YES! Jet Tec have 25 years experience and have perfected their ink cartridges to give rich, vibrant long lasting prints. (however, the setting you use for your printer and the correct paper will make a huge difference to your print)

What is extralife?

Jet Tec’s extralife? technology has been developed to offer up to 100% more printed pages than the OEM equivalent, offering excellent value for money and a double saving for you.

Do you guarantee your products?

All of our ink cartridges and toners are 100% guaranteed for 2 years from date of manufacture, 3 years for toners.

Where are Jet Tec ink cartridges and toners made?

All of our ink cartridges and toners are made and manufactured in our UK factory in Lincolnshire. Employing over 300 people in the UK, resulting in wages going back in the UK economy.

What are you doing to help the environment?

Jet Tec collect over 500,000 empty ink cartridges, laser toners and mobile phones through their sister company each month. All Jet Tec’s packaging is environmentally friendly using recycled plastic and recyclable card. This results in much less waste going to landfill.

Have Jet Tec won any awards or recognition for their products?

Yes, Jet Tec have won many and continue to do so. Jet Tec have ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC, Nordic Swan, Blue Angel, BRC & RILA. They have won the Queen’s award for innovation for their extralife technology, the Queen’s Award for Export and regularly win independent print consumer tests.

What if I have a problem?

The first place to visit is Jet Tec’s support website www.inksupport.info If you cannot find the solution for you, contact where you purchased your product or feel free to contact Jet Tec direct.

Why use Jet Tec Ink Cartridges?

Digital photography is becoming more and more popular with the availability of digital cameras. However, the amount of photos actually printed is decreasing. Jet Tec ink cartridges offers you the chance to start printing those special memories again without breaking the bank.

Jet Tec’s awarding winning Extra Life technology offers excellent value for money and in most cases between 20% to 100% more pages than OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Jet Tec cartridges offer unbeatable print quality and up to 70% saving on original products, as well as being an environmentally friendly alternative.

Jet Tec produce over 240 different ink cartridges including Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Lexmark, and Samsung. They develop all their own ink, which matches and often exceeds the quality of the OEM equivalent ink producing rich, vibrant colours, perfect for printing your photos and other documents.

In computing terms, a printer is a device (usually peripheral) that produces a hard copy of documents stored in electronic form, usually on print media such as paper, card or transparencies.

Many printers are primarily used as computer peripherals, and are permanently connected by a printer cable to a computer which serves as a document source. In most newer printers, a USB cable connects to a computer which serves as the document source. Other printers, commonly known as network printers, have built-in network interfaces and can serve as a hardcopy device for any user connected to the network.

In addition, many modern printers can directly interface to electronic media such as memory sticks or memory cards, or to image capture devices such as digital cameras, and scanners; some printers are integrated with a scanning and/or fax machine function – these printers are generally known as “multi-functional” or “all-in-one” printers.

Printers are designed for short-turnaround print jobs; requiring all-but no setup time to achieve a quality hard copy print of a required document.

The two main types of printers commonly found in the home and business are inkjet and laser toner printers.

A laser printer rapidly produces high quality text and graphics by employing a xerographic printing process by producing an image by the direct scanning of a laser beam across the printer’s photoreceptor. In contrast, an inkjet printer operates by propelling variably-sized droplets of liquid or molten material (ink) onto almost any sized page. They are the most common type of computer printer used by consumers.

In contrast, the printing press is designed and optimised for high-volume print jobs such as newspaper print runs: printing presses are capable of hundreds of pages per minute or more, and have an incremental cost-per-page which is a fraction of that of printers.

The printing press remains the machine of choice for high-volume, professional publishing. Although, as printers have improved in quality and performance, many jobs which used to be done by professional print shops are now done by users on local printers.

However, as printer technology has improved in quality and performance, many jobs which used to be done by professional print shops can now be readily done by users on local printers.

How to Change Your Inkjet Cartridges – UK Ink Supplies

    Posted in Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), UK Ink Supplies with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 22/03/2012 by ukinksupplies

Inkjet printers on the market today have on-screen alerts that let you know when the ink levels of the cartridge are running low. However, if you have an older inkjet printer, you might not receive any warning! If you attempt to print and it appears streaky or notice the page is blank, more than likely your inkjet cartridge is out of ink.

One very important thing to remember when replacing an inkjet cartridge is do not remove the old cartridge until you are ready to insert the new cartridge.

    1. Never remove your old ink cartridges until you are ready to insert the new inkjet cartridge.
    2. Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing button – most printers will provide you with access to the inkjet cartridge.
    3. Wait for the printer cartridge carrier to slide out.
    4. Put your finger behind the ridge on the top front of the old cartridge and pull it towards you to remove. If you have an Epson printer, lift the cartridge holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal.
    5. Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new cartridge, or with Jet Tec cartridges, remove the red clip by “snapping” it off.
    6. Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been.
    7. Feel and hear the cartridge click into position. On some models, arrows will indicate the cartridge is correctly positioned.
    8. If you have an Epson printer, close the cartridge holder lid and press the cleaning button to charge the cartridge.
    9. Close your printer cover

    Tips

    1. Many modern printer drivers display step-by-step instructions on the computer screen – UK Ink Supplies recommends following these.
    2. If you have a Canon Bubblejet printer, make sure you did not disturb the paper adjustment lever.
    3. Avoid touching openings, nozzles and electrical contacts on the new ink cartridge while installing.

    Warning

    1. Inkjet printers will not work without all of the cartridges in place.
